It's goodbye to Office 2007 and hello to Office 365

On 10th October 2017, Office 2007 will reach End of Life (EoL).
In addition, as of 31st October 2017, Outlook 2007 will be unable to connect to Office 365 mailboxes, which means companies using Outlook 2007 and Office 365 for email will not be able to send or receive emails after this date.
When speaking with an IT Manager of a reasonable-sized organisation (50 plus users) earlier this week, I mentioned that Office 2007 is being retired by Microsoft this October and asked what his plans were to upgrade.
This was news to the IT Manager and presents the organisation with a number of problems as they still widely use Office 2007 and rely on Office 365 for their email, using the Outlook web client isn’t really a viable option for them.
When Windows XP was being retired it was plastered all over the news, and to be fair to the IT Manager, information regarding Office 2007 going EoL hasn’t had anywhere near the same level of coverage or awareness. Hence the reason for this article.
