Happy Work Environment Limited
It's evident to all of us that the global landscape in the recent twelve months in all aspects of our existence has changed. And the question we are asking;
“What’s going on and where are we heading?”
When you think about existence and health in its entirety that can be practically applied to everything and anything that looks and feels healthy or unhealthy. For example: Mental, Physical, Emotional, Spiritual, Relationships, Businesses, Environment, Climate just to name a few.
Focus on mental health - before, during and post-pandemic
The statistics on Mental Health Challenges are discouraging. In recent years we have worked relentlessly towards lessening the stigmatization related to it. However, the COVID 19 pandemic is compounding the problem further. Many organizations are already working hard to bring change and healing. And the work must continue by helping people to help themselves.
I remember my driving instructor saying to me thirty years ago, "Steer in the direction you want to go."
“It's time to radically shift our focus to a better and brighter future by addressing our health and wellbeing”
According to a recent publication by West Field Health - Dave Capper, CEO, headlines MENTAL HEALTH-RELATED WORKPLACE ABSENTEEISM COST SOARED TO £14BN IN 2020, and writes…
"In 2021, companies will need to support wellbeing from the top down. They know that the talent in their teams is essential to recovery, and by taking steps to protect that talent mentally and physically, they will be ensuring a healthy future for all concerned."
According to 52% of the HR leaders interviewed, this ongoing investment is due to wellbeing becoming more critical at their company, with a 50% greater need for wellbeing post-pandemic strong evidence for it improving the performance of employees by 46%. Businesses that have already invested in wellbeing programmes see the benefit, with 78% saying engagement is high, compared to 54% of those without a plan.
Not a quick fix - but a proper solution
We have a solution to the current problem, and we are the contributors to the answer to global and national business corporations. There is a significant need to start addressing employees' wellness straight away - Procrastination and quick fixes only perpetuate the issue.
“It is better to save some than none.”
In my opinion, the only way forward is going all the way! My approach is holistic. There are no quick fixes and band-aid solutions, but instead, a well-organized long-term coaching approach. It has proven to be powerful and empowering way to solve non-medical problems. We know it because we have done it!
At Happy Work Environment Limited our expert and experienced group of coaches understand the challenges
We work with a holistic approach that pinpoints and addresses concerns, even those that get swept under the carpet in personal and business life. Both are linked and cannot be mentally detached. One impacts the other!
We recognize that a business is a living, breathing organism and everyone plays a pivotal role in helping the business grow. Status and positions in the company only demonstrate who is responsible for what - but it does not undermine anyone's position and responsibilities in the company. All persons are equal, and everyone's contribution matters!
Few profound stories
According to a popular legend, during a NASA headquarters tour in 1961, John F. Kennedy encountered a janitor mopping the floors. "Why are you working so late?" Kennedy asked. "Mr. President," the janitor responded, "I'm helping put a man on the moon."
Christopher Wren, a seventeenth-century English architect, walked among the men working upon building St. Paul's Cathedral in London, which he had designed.
He walked one day unrecognized among the men who were at work upon the building.
He asked one of the workmen, "What are you doing?" The man replied, "I am cutting a piece of stone." As Wren went on, he put the same question to another man, and the man replied, "I am earning five shillings twopence a day." To a third man, he addressed the same inquiry, and the man answered, "I am helping Sir Christopher Wren build a beautiful cathedral." That man had a vision. He could see beyond the cutting of the stone, beyond the earning of his daily wage, to creating a work of art: the building of a great cathedral.
Both the JFK and the Janitor story and Sir Christopher Wren's story are illustrative of our ideas around employee happiness; what is your part, how will you be compensated, and what is the corporate vision?
