A motivational speaker who battled back from a severe brain injury and channelled his efforts into inspiring others is to address delegates at Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce 's forthcoming Spring Expo.

Charlie Fogarty (pictured) suffered a life-changing injury in March 2012 after being hit by an overtaking car while crossing the road.

He was rushed to Birmingham Children 's hospital, placed in an induced coma and spent 11 uncertain days in intensive care.

Charlie then was transferred on to a Neuro ward where he spent the next four months in the early stages of recovery.

Following a six-month rehabilitation programme, where he learned to eat, walk and talk again, Charlie finally returned home in February 2013.

Shortly before the accident Charlie had finished a four-year contract at Birmingham City FC 's Academy and was trialling for Milton Keynes Dons.

Charlie went back to his previous school in Solihull with one-to-one support and completed a degree in Sports Science.

He started playing football for the West Midlands Centre of Excellence Cerebral Palsy team in July 2013 and was selected for the Northern Ireland CP team in January 2015.

Charlie has since travelled to Denmark to play in the Intercontinental CP Championships and has also played in two CP World Cups, in England and Argentina.

Charlie 's determination in his battle back and inspire others earned him an MBE in the recent Honours List.

He will be sharing his story at a webinar during the Chamber Expo, which takes place at Villa Park on Thursday 31 March.

Expo is the Chamber 's biggest networking event of the year, with opportunities to promote your business, find new suppliers or increase your knowledge and make new contacts.

More than 800 people are expected to attend throughout the day.

Exhibition stands for the Expo are sold out but there is still chance to book a delegate space.
