The Asian Business Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) is campaigning for tangible change and action on diversity in business.
As part of this campaign, the ABCC aims to highlight Chamber members that are embracing diversity and employing women, LGBT, disabled, black, Asian and minority ethic (BAME) people in senior and leadership roles.
Anita Bhalla (pictured) is currently chair of Chair of Performances Birmingham Town Hall and Symphony Hall, chair of Creative City Partnership, director of Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership), governor of the RSC, non-executive Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group, trustee of The Children’s University and a council member of Warwick University. Anita was chair of the Leadership Commission for the West Midlands Combined Authority.
She has an extensive 25 year media career, holding a number of senior positions at the BBC.
Anita has won several awards including the Race in the Media National Television News Award, Windrush Broadcaster of the Year, and was awarded an OBE for her services to broadcasting and communities.
Anita has also been closely involved with the ABCC, recently being one of five judges for the Chamber’s annual awards.
