A business expo hosted by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce proved there is a “huge appetite” for doing business face to face.
Around 800 delegates and 80 exhibitors attended the Autumn Expo at Edgbaston stadium.
A wide range of sectors including conferencing and events, digital, creative, manufacturing, hotels and hospitality and events were all represented at the Expo, which was sponsored by Openreach.
Seminars from Openreach, Virgin Trains and the Urban Growth Company also attracted big audiences.
Kim Mears, managing director of infrastructure development at Openreach, gave a detailed presentation on Openreach's full fibre rollout and how the firm plans to connect three-million premises to full fibre by 2020.
Delegates had the chance to win a number of top prizes on the day, including VIP tickets to see Take That courtesy of Amplify, Cheltenham racing tickets from The Jockey Club, a drone from Aerial Impact and Jungle Safari Adventure Golf pass courtesy of Nexus Creative.
Chief executive Paul Faulkner said: “The Chamber Expo seems to become more and more popular with every edition.
“We were delighted to see such a great buzz in the room and it was really pleasing to see so much business being done.
“It goes to show that there is a huge appetite for doing face-to-face business transactions.
“I’d like to thank Edgbaston stadium for being fantastic hosts, to our sponsors Openreach and to those who delivered seminars as part of the Expo.”
The Chamber’s Spring Expo will take place in March.
