Ten employees don their running shoes for charity

16 May 2019

A team of ten employees from accountancy firm, JW Hinks LLP, are donning their running shoes to raise hundreds for Friends of Alfie Johnson.

The Edgbaston-based firm are entering two teams into the ENGIE Business Challenge at the Simplyhealth Great Birmingham 10k, which is due to take place in Birmingham on 26 May.

Runners include Alan Jobling, Amandeep Toor, Ben Butler, Bradley Adams, David Hewitt, Harvir Grewal, James Long, Lucy Pilkington, Shannon Harris and Sophie Hanks.

All of the money that the teams raise during this run will go to the Friends of Alfie Johnson, which is the practice’s chosen annual charity.

The Friends of Alfie Johnson is helps children with disabilities in the Dudley, Sandwell and Wolverhampton Boroughs of the Black Country and has helped hundreds of young people and their families since it was founded.

Neal Aston (pictured), managing partner at JW Hinks, said: “We are delighted to be supporting The Friends of Alfie Johnson with our team’s participation in the ENGIE Business Challenge.

“They are all training hard to be ready for the big day, so we hope that their efforts will lead to a fantastic fundraising total for this wonderful cause.”

JW Hinks’ participation in the Birmingham 10k Business Challenge will follow the success of their fundraising in 2018 when Team Alfie – made up of JW Hinks’ staff – raised over £500 by competing in the Great Birmingham Half Marathon.

JW Hinks has a history of supporting local causes by selecting a local charity to benefit from its fundraising.
