Organic food firm, Superfood World, has launched a new organic, vegan energy bar.
SUPERGIZER is comprised dates, cacao, maca, pumpkin and sunflower seeds. The bar is made in Britain and certified as organic by Organic Farmers and Growers, an accredited body which approves organic produce.
Founded by Birmingham-based dental implant surgeon, Dr Wleed Haq, Superfood World’s new SUPERGIZER bar is just one of a variety of innovative plant-based products the organisation sells.
Superfood World also sells a variety of vegan organic nutritional supplements, including Pervian raw cacao, turmeric and ginger root powders, and donates 25 per cent of its profits to charity.
By donating its profits, Superfood World has helped fund house building projects for families in Sri Lanka, provided food and medical aid for Syrian refugees in Jordon and sponsored numerous cataract, cleft lip and palate operations for children in the third world.
The SUPERGIZER bar ingredients were picked by more than 1,000 food lovers and fitness enthusiasts, who took part in an online quiz hosted by Superfood World.
Dr Wleed says the purpose of the new bar is two-fold.
He explained: “Firstly, to provide a healthy and guilt-free alternative to chocolate which provides long lasting natural energy which is ideal for health enthusiasts, endurance athletes and can be taken as pre or post workout snack.
“Secondly, to promote the charitable mission of Superfood World.
“We are planning to distribute 10,000 bars for charity in partnership with our charity of choice, Medical Relief International (MRI) both locally in Birmingham and internationally as the nutrient dense energy bar has been designed to help serve malnourished populations.”
