A specialist recruitment firm is helping support the NHS through the coronavirus by appointing a number of non-medical and non-clinical roles.
Plum Personnel, based on Warwick Road in Solihull, has been tasked to recruit for a number of roles which will support the health service during the pandemic.
The temporary roles range from management in facilities to IT technicians and help desk workers as well as housekeeping and portering roles. All roles are based in hospitals in south and west Birmingham.
Susie Ankrett, director at Plum Personnel, said: "
"We are delighted that we can in some small way support the wonderful work that the NHS is doing and have received an outstanding response to the roles with one of our consultants taking calls from eight in the morning until 10 o’clock at night!
"Whilst we know there are many people who are seeking to do their bit for the NHS, it’s important that we have the people with the right skills and experience.
"To be eligible to work in the NHS also requires a huge amount of due diligence for compliance purposes and temporary workers also need to undertake online mandatory training as well as undergo a DRB check and an occupational assessment.
"Before anyone can start working for the NHS, as well as the usual employment checks we also need to see verified records of employment and obtain reference covering the last three years.
"With so many people now working from home, being able to contact people for reference checking has proved a particular challenge.
"All this takes time and the Plum Personnel team are working flat out to help support the NHS in this critical period."
