Sweet-toothed Tamworth pupils enjoyed a refreshing treat when their headteacher dished out ice-creams and lollies - from his family campervan.
Coton Green Primary School children were delighted when headteacher Richard Osborne served up free ice-treats for all from his VW Camper last week, when the temperatures hit a whopping 29 degrees in the town.
The chilled headteacher swapped his office for an ice-cream van and whipped up much surprise and delight by handing out lollies bought from a local ASDA store.
Richard said: “It’s been lovely to welcome more children back into school. The weather’s been scorching and what better way to enjoy some fun in the sun than with ice-creams and lollies? My campervan is a real hit with my own family and I thought it would be great to convert it into an ice-cream truck for the day and give children and colleagues a treat to remember.
“It was a joy to see the children’s faces light up when they saw the van. I enjoyed being an ice-cream man for the morning and bringing that touch of magic to everybody’s day. We all treasure such experiences and smiles and laughter are the sweetest reward of all.”
