Charity helps to saves lives in North Warwickshire

North Warwickshire Community First Responders (NWCFR) are the latest group to be supported by the UK 's only registered charity of its kind dedicated to funding lifesaving voluntary operated 999 vehicles.

Arrive Alive supports Community First Responder groups who are approved, trained and dispatched to 999 calls by West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Lee Nash from North Warwickshire Community First Responders said: “To do this voluntary work First Responders rely heavily on donations to allow us to attend incidents, they are not paid and do not receive any funding. This is where Arrive Alive have helped us in donating a fully marked responder vehicle that will allow us to continue to attend the calls for West Midlands Ambulance Service.

“Right from the start of the journey with Arrive Alive, their passion in supporting NWCFR has been fantastic and all other First Responder groups that they have supported. This can clearly be seen by the number of vehicles that are out in communities that have been donated by them through sheer determination in raising funds from wherever they can to ensure this vital service can continue.

“In these times of austerity donations can be hard to come by, but they continue to find ways of raising the funds for vehicles and other equipment that supports us to continue to respond to medical emergencies. ”

The launch of the lifesaving vehicle was handed over at a fundraising event at The Barn at Berryfields, a charity partner of Arrive Alive.

Debbie Roscoe from Arrive Alive said: "We have been privileged to work with a number of Community First Responder groups who are identified by West Midlands Ambulance Service for needing the support from Arrive Alive.

“The team at North Warwickshire have been a delight to work with, the Arrive Alive team are delighted to hand the keys over to their new responder vehicle. We would like to wish them all the best for the future years responding in their community attending 999 calls."
