Dual partner promotion at Azets

Azets, the regional accountancy firm and business advisor to SMEs, has further strengthened its Restructuring and Insolvency (R&I) team by appointing two new partners.

Birmingham-based Margaret Carter and Chris Tate from the UK Top 10 firm 's Southampton office have both been promoted to partner, as Azets continues to grow its R&I team at a critical time for UK SMEs facing turbulent economic conditions.

Margaret (pictured) has a long-established career in credit management, treasury, business development, and property finance.

She qualified as an insolvency practitioner in 2016, using her years of commercial experience to help clients navigate through difficult financial circumstances.

Margaret joined Azets in 2019 and in her new role as Partner will work closely with the expanding Corporate Finance, Forensics, and Transaction Services teams in Birmingham, covering the whole spectrum of corporate health for SMEs in the Midlands.

Chris joined Azets in April 2021 with more than 17 years ' experience advising directors and business owners who are experiencing financial difficulties.

He is a qualified chartered accountant and insolvency practitioner and has worked on a wide portfolio of corporate and personal insolvency matters in industries including construction, retail, leisure, and manufacturing.

Chris specialises in solvent liquidations including group restructuring and simplification, and has undertaken due diligence, solvent disposals, investigations and business reviews for banks and other stakeholders.

He is a member of the Hampshire Chamber Professionals Services Committee.
