South and City College are calling on electrical and electronic engineering professionals to be a part of a ground-breaking new programme to support a young and diverse group of people to join the industry.

The new T-Level in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is starting in September and all of the talented young engineers who enrol on the programme will be required to undertake extensive work experience placements to gain the skills and experience needed to jump-start their careers and hope to be able to gain long term employment with prospective employers.

With a focus on engineering design, the programme will offer a unique way to study and gain the experience required to become a competent engineer.

Based at the home of Engineering in the Midlands, South and City College will offer this training from their state-of-the-art engineering facility based at the Longbridge Campus, on the former Rover site.

Rebecca Waterfield, director of business services said: “We are proud to be innovating and supporting local engineers to develop their workforce through this exciting new programme.

“Electrical and electronic engineering businesses will be able to benefit from our most talented students and prepare them for future employment with their company throughout the programme. This is also an exciting opportunity for our students to get a step ahead in their career and get better access to local employment opportunities. ”

If your business could benefit from the skills of a talented young engineer, you can contact the team on 0121 694 5066 or email Arslan.Rehman@sccb.ac.uk.

The college is offering a whole range of other T-Levels too, including: Electrical Installation, Carpentry, Business, IT, Childcare, Healthcare, Science and more.

Employers are invited to get in touch for a free, no-obligation consultation on the free services offered by the college and how to access these.
