Event Description:

This course would follow on well for anyone that has attended the course Customs procedures & documentation. The course is aimed at anyone who works in import from a beginner with no formal training to the more experienced import staff member looking to refresh and update their knowledge. It would also work as a stand-alone course for those who have not attended any BCC training courses before.

The second half of the course covering inward and outward processing is suitable for those who work in international trade who require specific training on Customs Special Procedures. The first half of the course does cover enough for the delegate to complete the whole day.

This course will also provide an insight into business solutions post Brexit for those who currently only purchase from or use processing facilities in the EU.

The course gains the delegate 2 modules towards the foundation award in International trade. To gain the foundation award, each delegate must attend and pass a total of 6 modules from the 10 BCC accredited modules. There are 7 courses to choose from in total.

Import procedures:

You will gain an overview of the end to end import process and all areas applicable. You will look at supplier risk, country risk, payment risk and learn about duty payments. Areas explored are:

  • Definition of an Import and process flow
  • Making the enquiry, areas to consider include product, payment, licences, Incoterms, transport, documentation, costs, terms and conditions
  • Provide the purchase order
  • Movement of goods
  • Import clearance covering documentation, declarations, import duties
  • Special procedures
  • Import easements

Inward & outward processing:

  • An explanation of the Tariff, CHIEF and relevant nomenclature
  • Union Customs Code changes from 2016 – what has changed, what it means now, what the special procedures are, how to apply and how a company can benefit from using IP and or OP
  • Overview of Special Procedures - what they are and their types
  • Practical examples of which Special Procedure would be best suitable in given situations
  • Exercises in calculating guarantee levels required to support Special Procedure applications
  • Compliance, responsibilities and record keeping

The cost for Members is £245.00 + VAT and for Non-Members its £295.00+ VAT.

We also offer training packages, bespoke training and discounts for multiple bookings.

Please email to book a place or find out when the next available course will be.

*Please note, the aim is always to finish at the time provided above, but please allow extra time depending on how many delegates are on the course, as there may be more questions for the trainer to answer.
