EVENT DESCRIPTION

Who is this course suitable for?

Does your company use Customs agents and intermediaries to help you trade with the EU and the Rest of the World? Or are you a Customs agent and already complete declarations but want further knowledge?

If so, you need to know how to meet Customs requirements fast and efficiently now the new Customs declaration system CDS is in place.

Our training day will highlight what you need to know to be able to accurately complete a simple Customs declaration. You will learn about how Customs regimes operate & spend time on the completion of a declaration on CDS.

This course would suit many different roles within a company that trade internationally, from Shipping, exporting staff, importing staff, management of all levels, to logistics and freight forwarders, this course is for you.

What happens on the course and what is taught?

Each attendee will take away vital knowledge on the following topics:

– Introduction to Trade
– Business Responsibilities
– Export process
– Import process
– Classification – determining the use of commodity codes
– Reliefs
– Preferences
– Origin
– Customs procedures updates
–Common difficulties when completing the customs declaration

There is no formal exam to be taken, however delegates will get to do exercises on simulated forms for a better understanding of required data.

Costs:

Member’s fee:  £280 + VAT

Non-member’s fee: £340 + VAT

*Any cancellations must be confirmed via email to training@birmingham-chamber.com and must be given within 5 working days clear of the original event date. For any cancellations given less than 5 working days before the event, fees will not be refunded. This also counts for non-attendance. If the course is due to run again in the future, delegates can opt to transfer to the next available date. A £50 fee will still be issued to cover the costs already incurred.

*Please note, the aim is always to finish at the time provided above, but please allow extra time depending on how many delegates are on the course, as there may be more questions for the trainer to answer.
