Greater Birmingham is a hub of entrepreneurial activity, with the most recent data showing that Birmingham and Solihull start-ups accounted for over half (53%) of the West Midlands’ business births in 2020. Education institutions and other public sector institutions that accelerate entrepreneurialism also have a strong presence in the city region, enabling individuals to translate their ambitions into a viable business model through funding, advice and other support.

This event will review the latest results of the GBCC’s Quarterly Business Report and explore how Greater Birmingham benefits from and celebrates its entrepreneurial population. It will also explore ideas around how the city region can continue to support and attract entrepreneurs and the role that local businesses, schools, training providers, colleges and universities have in growing entrepreneurial skills for our future workforce

The Quarterly Business Report offers an up-to-date snapshot of the performance of the Greater Birmingham business community. Our flagship economic publication, it is the most comprehensive regular report of its kind in the city-region. Underpinning our report is data gathered from quarterly surveys completed by businesses from across the Greater Birmingham area.

Now a well-established feature in the local business calendar, these high-quality events attract a senior level audience for networking, discussion and intelligence sharing.

The Quarterly Business Report is sponsored by Birmingham City University.
