EVENT DESCRIPTION

The Quarterly Business Report offers an up-to-date snapshot of the performance of the Greater Birmingham business community. Our flagship economic publication, it is the most comprehensive regular report of its kind in the city-region. Underpinning our report is data gathered from quarterly surveys completed by businesses from across the Greater Birmingham area. On 18th July, our event held at Birmingham City University will launch the findings and insights of the Q2 survey.

Our Q1 survey revealed a mixed picture of confidence across the Greater Birmingham business community. On the one hand, concerns about inflation and competition are rising, export sales have fallen, and recruitment difficulties remain ever-present. However, on a more positive note, there has been an uptick in domestic sales, turnover, and profitability. We at the Chamber have been committed to Keep Business Moving by helping to connect, support and grow local businesses in Greater Birmingham throughout this uncertain time, and the intelligence gained from the QBR surveys is invaluable to helping us to meet this aim. After a review of the latest GBCC Quarterly Business Report results, this event will explore the growth prospects for the region as we emerge from a period of economic uncertainty.

Sponsored by Birmingham City University and now a well-established feature in the local business calendar, these high-quality events attract a senior level audience of c.60- 80 for networking, discussion and intelligence sharing.

The Quarterly Business Report is sponsored by Birmingham City University and the theme of the event for Q2 is legacy of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
