The GBCC is delighted to be joined by the Rt Hon Pat McFadden MP, Shadow Economic Secretary for an online webinar which will explore the Labour Party’s plans in regards to revitalising the economy as we emerge from the pandemic. Having been elected as MP for Wolverhampton South East in 2005, Pat was subsequently appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary to the Cabinet Office in 2006, and later became Minister of State at the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform and remained Minister in its successor department, the Department of Business Innovation and Skills. In 2010, Pat was appointed Shadow Secretary of State for Business Innovation and Skills and September 2010 saw him return to the backbenches. Here, he was appointed to the Treasury Committee in 2011, and became Labour’s Shadow Minister for Europe in 2014, a position he held until 2016. He then sat on the Select Committee for Exiting the European Union.
In April 2020, Pat was appointed Shadow Economic Secretary under Keir Starmer in the midst of the pandemic. Join us to find out more about the Labour Party’s plans to help the business community to overcome the challenges they are currently facing in relation to Brexit and Covid-19 as we enter a crucial period for our region and our country as a whole.
