The Solihull Chamber’s Annual General Meeting is an important event in the Solihull Chamber’s calendar. The meeting includes a review of the Chamber’s activities and achievements during the last 12 months and also the election of members to the Chamber’s Executive Council. We hope that you will be able to join us for the AGM on Friday 31st March at 10.00am at Hogarth’s Hotel Solihull.
You will find a link below to the nomination papers for the election of Chamber Officers. The nomination papers give you the opportunity to nominate yourself or others to the Executive Council. The Council provides the Chamber with valuable feedback, which influences its strategy and business plan. It also provides representatives to other groups and committees in Solihull, Birmingham and the West Midlands and is a forum to ensure that the voice of Solihull business is heard locally and regionally. The expected contribution from members of the Executive Council is summarised in the attached document.
There are 7 vacancies for election to the Executive Council as noted on the papers:
Emma-Louise Hewitt, Kevin Johns, Rebecca Gater, Jas Rohel and Pauline Clarke have all served a two year term and under the constitution will retire at the AGM or they can offer themselves for re-election. In addition, Brad Parkes has resigned from the Executive Council creating a further vacancy.
Eileen Schofield has completed her 2 year term as Vice President and has been selected as the new President by the Executive Council on recommendation of the GPC, so there will be 1 Vice President vacancy for which nominations can also be made.
If nominations do not exceed the number of vacancies, positions will automatically be filled and will be announced at the AGM. If there are more candidates than vacancies, an online ballot will take place in advance of the AGM in accordance with the constitution of which the outcome will be announced at the AGM.
Members wishing to be considered for election to any of the above positions must complete and sign the nomination form attached to the AGM notice and must obtain a signature of a proposer and seconder.
Nominated individuals, proposers and seconders must be members of the Solihull Chamber of Commerce.
Candidates are asked to submit a personal profile of not more than 200 words together with their nomination paper. This personal profile will be used in the instance an online ballot is required.
Nomination papers can be returned to Samantha Frampton, Head of the Solihull Chamber of Commerce, via email S.frampton@Solihull-chamber.com. Deadline for nominations is 24th February 2023
