Join three of the region’s most influential media figures, who will be discussing how businesses can engage with the media.
The past decade has seen a dramatic shift in the way news is delivered and consumed, with many putting greater resources into online news rather than traditional print publications.
This has led to an increase in popularity of websites such as Birmingham Live – the online sister title of the Birmingham Mail – and Birmingham Updates, which was formed during the riots in the city during 2011.
Our special guest panel will be discussing changes in the media landscape and how this affects the way businesses communicate.
The panel includes:
- Chair: Henrietta Brealey, Director of Policy and Strategic Relationships, GBCC
- Marc Reeves, editor-in-chief of Reach Midlands Media Ltd – which encompasses the Birmingham Post and Mail newspapers and online sister title Birmingham Live
- Oli Hills, the managing director of Updates Media – parent company of Birmingham Updates which provides news, lifestyle, events, weather and travel updates across the second city
- Alex Turner, joint managing director of TheBusinessDesk.com – the popular business news outlet which sends out 2.5m emails and generates one-million page impressions each month across the East and West Midlands, Yorkshire and the North West
