Rosemary Gallant is the new Senior Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy London. Ms. Gallant previously served as the Senior Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta from 2014 to 2019.
From 2008 to 2014, Ms. Gallant served as the Principal Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing. Prior to this, she served as the Commercial Attaché at the U.S. Mission to the European Union in Brussels from 2004 to 2008. From 2001 to 2004, she was the Senior International Trade Specialist at the U.S. Commerce Department’s Export Assistance Center in Connecticut.
Ms. Gallant also served as the Deputy Senior Commercial Officer at the American Institute in Taiwan from 1998 to 2001. She was the U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong from 1994 to 1998, as well as the U.S. Consulate General, Vice Consul, and Commercial Officer in Shanghai from 1991 to 1994. From 1988 to 1991, she worked on bilateral trade policy issues at the U.S. Department of Commerce Office of China having joined the U.S. Department of Commerce in 1988.
Ms. Gallant holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese and Economics from Wellesley College and a Certificate from Hopkins Nanjing Center.
