EVENT DESCRIPTION

In 2019, Birmingham City Council declared a climate emergency. As part of this declaration, a target was set for 'the council and city to become net zero carbon by 2030, or as soon as possible thereafter as a just transition allows'.

Net Zero is the idea of reducing emissions down to zero or as close as possible to prevent further temperature increases. To achieve Net Zero businesses and individuals need to ensure change within their organisations and daily lives and take effective steps to get as close to Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions as soon as possible.

In the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, Net Zero and Sustainability: Business Insights Report, its outlined that 28% of respondents from the West Midlands indicated that they would like to reach Net Zero but did not understand what it entails.

This webinar will look to help businesses understand the importance of achieving Net Zero and provide them with an understanding of what Net Zero involves.
