Leon Ayo
Leon is a passionate ‘Afri-Optimist’, he is of Anglo-Nigerian origin and is a South African Permanent Resident.
He moved into the world of consultancy in 2004 having served as a Captain in the British Army. He spent 7 years as a regular officer operating internationally on both counter terrorists and diplomatic missions. He served in Africa, the middle East, Central & North America and Europe.
He works with entrepreneurs across the Africa region helping them grow.
Leon also commanded and founded the British Army’s Diversity Action Team where he advised the Army and Ministry of Defence on matters of diversity and inclusion. He is an expert in this area and has lectured, consulted and advised on this matter internationally.
He has consulted and led teams across four continents specializing in Leadership, High Performance Culture, Agile Thinking, Entrepreneurship and helping organizations navigate the 4th Industrial Revolution embracing Diversity and Inclusion.
He has been a visiting lecturer at the universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Lancaster, Birmingham, Cape Town and Stellenbosch as well as Warwick & Cranfield Business Schools.
He is a board advisor and consults on Leadership, strategy, driving growth and transformation through disruptive training & helping organisations embrace the new world of work.
He is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, he was awarded a British Army languages scholarship, earning an MA in French & Diplomatic Studies. He holds an Executive MBA from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick and is also an IMD alumnus.
Nicole Wharfe, Business Services Director, British Chamber of Commerce, Singapore
As an experienced Business Development, Marketing and Consultancy Professional, Nicole has worked across multiple sectors within the UK and Internationally. Prior to relocating to Singapore 4 years ago, she completed an International MBA at Bournemouth University, specialising in Business in Media incorporating Corporate Law.
Nicole leads the Business Services of the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore which incorporates the Trade and Membership Teams, providing support and consultancy for in coming organisations looking to export to Singapore and established businesses in Singapore respectively. Nicole specifically provides specialist Trade advice and support for the Education, Food & Beverage, Technology, Finance and Sport Sectors.
Nicole was born in the UK but grew up overseas, predominantly in Swaziland; Also, Cóte D’Ivoire, Southern Sudan, Washington DC, St. Lucia and Botswana.
