Who is this course suitable for?
The British Chambers of Commerce have now included this module of training into the accredited set of courses as the detail of the commodity is vital for any International trade company to understand.
The course would be suitable for those working in an export or import environment and wanting to learn exactly what commodity codes are, what they mean and how to determine the correct code.
For delegates that have sat previous BCC accredited courses, this would be a great half day session to gain an extra module towards their foundation award in International trade.
For those that haven’t sat any previous training and want to learn about the topic, it would also suit.
What does the delegate gain?
Providing the delegate completes and passes the short assessment questions sent to them at the end of the course, (delegates have a week to complete this) the course gains them 1 module towards the Foundation award in International trade – a nationally recognised qualification issued from the British Chambers of commerce.
To gain the foundation award, each delegate must attend and pass a total of 6 modules from the 11 BCC accredited modules.
There are 8 courses to choose from in total.
As well as the opportunity to gain this achievement, the delegate will take away with them invaluable skills and knowledge to implement in their role within their company.
What happens on the course and what is taught?
The international system for coding products for customs purposes when we trade internationally is generally regarded as complex and difficult to understand. The penalties for wrongly assigning a code to a product could be severe and relying on a freight forwarder’s judgement does not release the producer or shipper from responsibility for accurately describing the goods.
This half day course will also include guidance on the UK Global Tariff which went live on 1st January 2021.

*Any cancellations must be confirmed via email to email@example.com and must be given within 5 working days clear of the original event date. For any cancellations given less than 5 working days before the event, fees will not be refunded. This also counts for non-attendance. If the course is due to run again in the future, delegates can opt to transfer to the next available date. A £50 fee will still be issued to cover the costs already incurred.
