Two years ago, on the morning Donald Trump was elected President the BABC held a post election breakfast to predict the next four years. Two years on the US Mid-Terms are on the horizon and we're holding the next breakfast to look at the last two years of Trumps Presidency, the results of the Mid-terms & what we can expect in the next two years.
What are the Mid-Terms?
Midterm elections in the United States are the general elections held in November of even-numbered years and thus near the midpoint of a president's four-year term of office. Federal offices that are up for election during the midterms are members of the United States Congress, including all 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives, and the full terms for 33 or 34 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate.
President Donald Trump himself is not up for re-election, so fewer voters are expected to turn out. But his ability to govern in the final two years of his first term will hinge upon the 6 November outcome.
What can you expect from this event?
This event will have up to four speakers to cover the build up to the mid-term elections, analysing the past two years of Trump's Presidency including politically & economically and also predict what the next two years have in store for the Transatlantic Relationship.
