The continuing development of staff and the ability for us to identify and nurture both our talent and leaders for the future is vital to the success of GBCC. In recognition of GBCC’s continuing commitment to staff development, the Investors in People award was achieved in 1996. GBCC also achieved re recognition against the Bronze Standard in 2016.

We pride ourselves on the delivery of quality services to our members. Achievements to date include the BS EN ISO 9001 (2008) quality standard which was first achieved in January 2004 and Accredited Status by the Association of British Chambers of Commerce.


Chief Financial Officer

Our current Finance Director is retiring later this year. GBCC is therefore looking to recruit an outstanding CFO who will play an active part in managing and representing both the internal and external facing facets of the business participating fully in the leadership of the GBCC, reinforcing a climate of change and working with the CEO and COO to further the influence, reputation and reach of the GBCC. Candidates are likely to already hold a senior finance position within the private sector.

The CFO will have overall responsibility for developing financial strategy, business planning, business risk management and ensuring effective financial management and financial control throughout the GBCC.

Patron and Policy Advisor

This is the ideal role for an individual looking to develop a career in policy. Experience of education and apprenticeship policy is desirable, but not essential. You will have an excellent standard of communication skills, educated to degree level is desirable, but not essential. You will have an interest in policy, politics and/or relationship management.
