Does ‘Work from Home Culture’ Pose a Threat to UK Productivity?

The covid-19 pandemic brought about long term changes to the way we live and work. CIPD reported 78% of employers offering hybrid working in 2022 and ONS surveying in January 2023 found that 44% of adults across Great Britain were home or hybrid working.

This trend is expected to continue, with 47% of workers preferring a hybrid approach to work and the government’s Flexible Working Bill set to bolster employee’s request flexible working from Spring 2024.

But does ‘work from home culture’ pose a threat to UK productivity?

This session will feature insights from local business leaders taking varying approaches to the future of work, be it returning to business premises or continuing to adopt more flexible ways of working and discussions about how these firms are approaching employee engagement, disseminating learning and driving productivity.

This event is part of the 2024/25 Growth Through People campaign, which aims to boost regional and firm-level productivity by sharing best-practice approaches to leadership and people management.
