A partnership has been launched to encourage and support more black women from the West Midlands to get into tech.

Birmingham 's 3D Agency and XR experts Taran3D are partnering with Niyo Enterprise on their Black Disruptor Accelerator Program.

This programme has been created specifically to redress the balance around the lack of black women in the tech industry.

The Immersive and XR Accelerator is designed for black women who would like to enter a career working with the Unity engine where they can create navigatable, virtual spaces for use with Virtual Reality.

Taran3D will be running an XR bootcamp that will bridge the tech gap, offering upskilling to participants to make them sector ready and develop confidence.

Taran Singh (pictured), the creative powerhouse behind Taran3D, said: “We are honoured to partner with Niyo Enterprise on this project and have great respect for Oyinkansola Adebayo and the inspirational team at Niyo Enterprise.

“Our goal is to make immersive technology accessible for all and we are fully committed to encouraging and inspiring the next generation into our industry.

“To support this goal we recently launched our new specialist hub for Taran3D 's training programmes & initiatives, XR Academy. ”

The Black Disruptor Accelerator Program will also prepare applicants with the right attitude and digital skills to help them succeed in #unity developer roles, interactive applications, games design, as well as AR & VR developer roles.
Niyo Enterprise is a multifaceted organisation that uses creative tools such as technology, hair, and beauty to economically empower black women.

The Black Disruptor Accelerator Program is run through the firm 's not-for-profit arm Niyo Network.

The deadline for applicants for this program is 9 April 2021. Further details are available here.
