Charity to showcase volunteer opportunities during expo

06 May 2021

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is set to virtually showcase its many volunteering opportunities in an upcoming expo.

The Volunteer Expo 2021 will take place on Friday 7 May and Saturday 8 May and will be free to attend.

Hosted by one of the world’s largest voluntary service networks, Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland, the Volunteer Expo Online is the first event of its kind in the UK, bringing together individuals and organisations from across the whole of the voluntary sector under one ‘virtual’ roof.

Confirmed speakers at the event include heavyweight boxer and mental health campaigner, Frank Bruno, award-winning broadcaster Ben Fogle, chief executive of the Royal Voluntary Service, Catherine Johnstone and more.

Due to the reliance of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity on volunteer assistance in charity shops and fundraising activities, the organisation are encouraging people to attend the event and gain insight into the importance of volunteers’ contributions.

Through their virtual attendance, the charity will also showcase the opportunities available to help support its service and generate fundraising income.

Alison Hill, volunteer manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “We are exhibiting at Volunteer Expo Online to celebrate the impact that our volunteers, fundraisers and supporters have on our charity and showcase the difference they make by helping us save lives across the West Midlands.

“Tickets for the event are free and we would love for the people of the West Midlands to pay us a virtual visit and discover all of the volunteering opportunities available at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.”

As the charity is currently celebrating its Air30 30th anniversary, it’s an exciting time to join the service’s volunteering family.

The charity prides itself in looking after its family of volunteers by providing a range of flexible opportunities and recognising them for their work through a range of awards.

Midlands Air Ambulance has also been awarded an Investors in Volunteers accreditation, which is a nationally recognised sign of excellence.
