Almost 60 years since the UK 's largest regional airline was founded, Loganair are searching for a home-grown soundtrack to feature in their diamond celebratory video.

Loganair is calling on all budding and established artists to record and submit a lyrical or instrumental song which encapsulates the ethos of the airline over 60 years - with one entry selected to feature in an anniversary video in addition to winning a £1000 cash prize.

On 1 February 1962 Loganair was founded with the first flight taking off from Dundee Airport bound for Edinburgh in October 1963. In its 60 years, Loganair has grown to be the largest regional airline in the UK as well as serving multiple international destinations including Denmark and Norway. Loganair also operates lifeline services to the Highlands and Islands through domestic flights and its Royal Mail partnership.

Through the video, the airline hopes to celebrate its heritage and pay tribute to all of the special moments it has shared with customers; connecting people across the UK, brining loved ones together and allowing businesses to grow. Therefore, the airline is looking for a song from a local artist across its UK network that puts the customer at the heart of its 60-year history.

Kay Ryan, Loganair 's chief commercial officer, said: “Celebrating 60 years is a truly remarkable milestone and it 's humbling to reflect on our history as we continue to invest and look ahead to the next 60 years.

“We are in the business of connecting people so it 's fitting to call upon our network to create a soundtrack for our celebratory video. We can 't wait to listen to the talented submissions over the coming weeks. ”

Deadline for entries is Wednesday 19 January 2022 when the winning entrant will be selected to receive £1000 cash and have their entry produced for a video which is set to debut on Tuesday 1 February 2022.
