Uni climbs three places in national guide
Aston University has risen three places in the Guardian 's annual league table of UK universities, being placed 22nd in the latest rankings published.
The Guardian University Guide ranks universities according to a number of factors, including teaching excellence, student satisfaction and career prospects.
It marks the fifth consecutive year of improvement for Aston University, up 29 places since 2018, and up three places on last year 's table.
The university was named as second in the country for health professions courses which includes its BSc (hons) optometry and its four year MOptom optometry which allows students to achieve a masters degree as well as qualifying as a registered optometrist.
In addition, the University is placed fifth in the country for construction courses run within its College of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
The university 's international relations courses, which are based within its College of Business and Social Sciences, received a ranking of sixth in the country.
Overall, Aston University increased its ranking for career prospects with an increase of four places to 27.
The league table now places the University as second in the West Midlands.
