Gary Sambrook, MP for Birmingham Northfield, met with Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) member Industrial Washing Machine Ltd (IWM) during a visit last week with Chamber members.

Mr Sambrook was given a tour of IWM 's facilities by managing director Carl Hollier, where he met members of staff and learnt more about the business.

Later, a discussion was held around the cost of doing business, supply chain issues and export challenges.

IWM is a family-owned business with over 40 years of experience manufacturing and supplying industrial washing equipment, hygiene equipment, detergents, and service/spares provision to support customers in a range of global sectors.

Mr Sambrook said: “I'm extremely proud to see the manufacturing capabilities of businesses in my constituency. During my visit to IWM, I was given a tour of the manufacturing floor and met some of the experienced workers. It was great to see how this family business has expanded over the last several decades and to see the import and export power they possess. ”

Carl Hollier, managing director, said: “We were very pleased to have been selected by the GBCC for a visit to our facilities by Gary Sambrook. Continuing our longstanding relationship with the Chamber, it was great to have the opportunity to showcase our company to a local serving MP, who was genuinely interested in our company, the products we manufacture and members of our valued team.

“Despite IWM 's full order book and export achievements to date in these challenging times, it was great to discuss our plans for future sustained growth and development, by way of new premises, skilled labour and potential opportunities for the supply of some of our products into the public sector. ”
