Emerging technology start-up scoops prestigious industry award
Voilo, an emerging innovative payment solutions provider, has been named as the best entrepreneurial project in the UK.
The provider was also recognised for its high-impact, innovative and scalable approach.
Following stringent coaching and assessment from NTT DATA mentors, Voile, an innovative payment system that allows shoppers to make payments using a unique QR payment solution, was named as the leading tech start-up in the UK and will now go on to represent the country in the Global Awards.
Through its ground-breaking technology, Voilo is striving to help businesses save up to 90% on transaction costs, whilst also offering a functional platform which rewards shoppers.
This recognition of long term savings for businesses and charities piqued the interest of the judges and illuminated the brand's fundamental purpose - to optimise the payment process for businesses, charities and customers alike.
As a result of its recent success, Voilo will now receive a £10,000 cash prize, as well as a bespoke acceleration programme to ensure the business remains streamlined through business coaching and continued exposure to the NTT DATA Group network.
Commenting on his recent achievement, Ronan Hynes, co-founder of Voilo, said: "It was a real pleasure to share our journey and vision with the judges and to show them the difference we are making in our society.
“From the moment we got involved with NTT and the competition, we had such a great experience and completely admired their support and ethos in helping tech start-ups and entrepreneurs to grow.
“The competition was really tough with some incredible businesses in the running that really showcases the ambitions of the UK tech industry. After a brief period of celebration, we will now be turning our attention to the global finals next month and hope to emulate this recent success."
Fronted by the NTT Data Foundation, the UK Awards are designed to nurture some of the industries most shining prospects, which will then go on to represent the country on the global stage during an international meeting of leading industry minds from 15 countries in Europe and Latin America.
Voilo will now go on to represent the UK in the international final on the 15 October 2022 and will be competing to be crowned as a global winner against 14 other countries from Europe and Latin America.
