Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce have announced that the West Midlands Combined Authority will be a headline partner of the Chamber 's annual Growth Through People campaign.
Growth Through People is a flagship Chamber campaign aiming to help local firms boost productivity through improved leadership and people management skills.
The campaign includes free training sessions, workshops, webinars and events alongside digital content, including podcasts and blogs, and since 2020, the campaign has concluded each year with an in-person conference.
By sharing best practice advice and guidance between members of the local business community, Growth Through People 2023 exists to help local businesses learn the latest techniques in responsible leadership, attracting and engaging talent, unlocking potential and harnessing resilience.
Growth Through People 2023 will be take place throughout 4 weeks of March, beginning on 27 February. The Growth Through People Conference for 2023 will take place on 1 May.
David Gaughan (pictured), head of Employer Services at the West Midlands Combined Authority commented: “The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is delighted to be supporting this year 's Growth Through People campaign.
“The development of leadership and management skills in the region is key priority for us, as we use our devolved powers to enable local businesses to develop their existing talent to tackle key challenges that we 're seeing across all industries. These issues include business transition in digitalisation and net zero working practice.
“Campaigns such as Growth Through People give the region a chance to showcase the tenacity and innovation that the West Midlands is known for, and the people who champion progress and success.
“WMCA will host its first ever Adult Learner Awards later this year. We know that there are many employers who have embraced the opportunity to develop the skills of their workforce. The Adult Learner Awards provide a platform for those organisations to demonstrate their investment in their people. ”
Have you invested in your staff or know an organisation who has? Nominate them in the WMCA 's Adult Learning Awards by 24 February.
