The Job People, based in Birmingham, with offices in Cannock, Telford and Derby have pledged their support to local youth homelessness charity St Basils by becoming a charity partner.

The company, with over 100 years combined experience, specialise in logistics, manufacturing and food production recruitment. They strive to work in true partnership with both clients and candidates to get the best results.

This is reinforced in their tagline “Together we 're better ” - this sentiment is certainly echoed by St Basils who believe it 'takes a village ' to help and support a young person.

They will be working with the charity over the next 12 months to raise awareness of youth homelessness in the West Midlands, as well as supporting St Basils with fundraising and donation drives.

The Job People have pledged that they will take part in the charity 's flagship event, The Big Sleepout, where people challenge themselves to spend a night sleeping out in the cold at Birmingham 's Millennium Point.

They will also be opening a 'donation station ' in the ground floor lobby of their building, where all tenants will be encouraged to donate much needed grocery items and toiletries as they come into work.

St Basils is a charity that works with over 4,000 young people, providing accommodation, advice, and support to get back into education and employment and help them secure a home of their very own.

Neil Cooksey, director at The Job People, said: “We are proud to have partnered with St Basils who are actively changing the lives of young people facing complex issues across the Midlands.

“As a business that works closely with local employers, we know there are lots of ways we can get involved to support this charity and the incredible work they do.

“We want to be a part of helping create brighter futures for young people in our local communities and are committed to working alongside St Basils to make a positive and lasting difference. ”

Pauline Clarke, senior Business and Communities fundraiser for St Basils added: “We are delighted to have the team at The Job People supporting us this year, with the cost-of-living crisis coming just after covid, more and more young people and families are finding themselves in fear of losing their homes. The team are hoping to raise at least £3,000 and those funds will certainly make a significant difference to the vulnerable young people we support. ”
