Knowle business community to celebrate Coronation
Knowle businesses and community groups are coming together in the heart of Knowle to celebrate the Coronation on Bank Holiday Monday 8 May.
From 10am - 4pm, there will be an artisan market featuring fabulous local businesses, and a community zone where you can meet local community groups.
Knowle Parish Church are busy planning celebrations for the Coronation and among the activities on Monday 8 May will be the popular Tower Tours, where you can climb up the church tower.
The church itself will be open to visit an exhibition from Knowle Local History Society called 'A Thousand Years of Knowle. ' Outside on the grass by Kenilworth Road there 'll be plenty of fun activities for all ages.
New this year, will be a new Grub Hub on Kenilworth Road, with food, drink, and picnic benches.
On stage, there will be entertainment with performances from Warwickshire Dance Academy, Allure School of Dance, Knowle Church Children 's Choir, United Dance Academy and more.
Children are invited to design their own crown, in the Coronation Crown competition. Entries for three age categories are welcome from pre-school, infant and junior children. Children entering need to come to the stage just before 12 noon on the day to be part of the crown parade which will be judged by the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Ken Meeson.
Winners in each category will be presented with a prize donated by Indigo Art Gallery.
The event is a truly collaborative effort, being organised by members of the "B93 Together" team consisting of volunteers from local community groups.
