Solihull families invited to join Coronation festivities
Families are cordially invited to Solihull town centre to enjoy the free, fun activities celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III.
The Royal festivities, organised by Solihull Business Improvement District, kick off on Saturday 29 April with the launch of the family sticker trail. Children can pick up a trail booklet from the Touchwood Information Desk, Pizza Hut, Vita in Mell Square or any of the 12 businesses taking part and then visit them all, picking up a sticker and learning fun facts about past monarchs as they go. Complete the trail and be in with a chance of winning a £300 gift card!
Several of the town centre 's best hospitality venues will be serving up a treat of a Royal Coronation afternoon tea, including Crowne Plaza, Emporio Artari, Encore Caf, KIBOU and the Manor House Tea Rooms.
Solihull town centre will then turn into a hive of activity on Coronation day, Saturday 6 May.
Transport Museum Wythall will be running free vintage bus tours from Solihull train station into the town centre, and a static bus will be in Mell Square for interested persons to find out all the history on the bus carriage makers of Solihull.
Be entertained by the Union Flag Belles roaming the town centre, take a selfie on the royal throne (there 's even one for royal pooches too) and soak up the celebratory atmosphere.
You can marvel at Touchwood 's fabulous umbrella walkway and enjoy the live screening of the Coronation event at The Core Theatre, where there are lots of kids activities too.
Melanie Palmer, chief executive of Solihull BID, said: “We are thrilled to be part of the Coronation activities in Solihull, bringing our business community and visitors together for this historic event. We look forward to seeing everyone have fun! ”
