Select Car Leasing shortlisted for industry award
Select Car Leasing has risen above thousands of nominees to be shortlisted for a industry award.
The Great British Business & Community Awards take place each year and celebrate the 'achievements of businesses, charities and inspirational individuals ' throughout the Thames Valley region.
Organisers of the event say they 've had 1,618 nominations this year and Select has now been shortlisted for the 'Outstanding Contribution to The Community ' trophy.
It comes after a year in which Select Car Leasing, which has an outlet in Burton, supported a number of grassroots initiatives designed to improve the lives of young people.
It includes providing free sports kits for football teams, free meals for children during school holidays, and giving away hundreds of free tickets so that youngsters could watch Reading F.C at the Select Car Leasing Stadium. Many of those young people had never been to watch a professional football game before.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony to take place on Friday 21st April at The Hilton, Reading.
Mark Tongue, director of Select Car Leasing, said he 's extremely proud of Select 's reputation as a socially-responsible business.
He said: “We 're extremely pleased to be shortlisted in the 'Outstanding Contribution to The Community ' category at the Great British Business & Community Awards.
“It 's yet more recognition Select Car Leasing 's commitment to funding and supporting initiatives for youngsters across Reading and the Thames Valley region. There are many challenges facing grassroots sports teams right now and we 're keen to give something back to the community. Our support of such endeavours will continue throughout 2023 and beyond. ”
Sarah Worthington (pictured), fleet specialist and corporate sales manager at Select Car Leasing, said at the time: “This Business Motoring award reflects all of the hard work the team has put in, and we 're delighted to be recognised by the industry in this way.
“We have plans to expand further in 2023 following a huge increase in fleet enquiries and recommendations from existing customers in the SME space. And 2023 will also bring more experienced fleet partners to the Select Fleet Solutions offering, as well as exciting enhancements to our Salary Sacrifice customer journey, which saves employees up to 40 per cent on electric vehicles. ”
