Adult learning provider RMF Group are celebrating their win at the inaugural Adult Learning Awards, created by the West Midlands Combined Authority.
RMF were awarded the Engaging Adults in Learning Award, for their on-going commitment to providing employer-led training that creates long-term job prospects for their learners.
The Combined Authority recognised that RMF have been successful in supporting those with barriers to work in the West Midlands into jobs in the construction, rail, and equine industries, helping to boost the local economy and upskill the community.
RMF are committed to providing whatever support is needed for learners to successfully complete courses, including improving maths and English skills, delivering one-to-one mentoring, providing accommodation and resettlement services for learners without a fixed address, or helping ex-offenders who are adapting to life outside of custody.
This innovative training provider has strong links with employers across the West Midlands, providing access jobs and valuable work experience on high profile projects such as HS2, Metro Link and community housing projects.
The company has also forged strong links with esteemed organisations such as the National Stud and British Horse Society for their equine learners.
Construction and rail courses are taught at dedicated facilities, enabling learners to gain experience working with a wide range of equipment and machinery on a real site.
The equine course is delivered in partnership with Solihull Riding Club, allowing learners to work with horses first-hand. One of the learners has gone on to work at the Grand National through his job with Milton Harris Racing, gained as a result of the programme.
Molly Forsyth from RMF Group said: “Our aim is to leave no learner behind, to make change happen for them and for the West Midlands region. We focus on creating careers and invest in the personal development of our learners.”
