Rugby club announces coaching team
Moseley Rugby Club has announced its coaching team for the 2023/24 season.
Pete Glackin will assume the role of head coach. With a wealth of experience at National One and Championship level Pete will be the architect of the team's strategy as they take to the field.
Supporting Pete will be former South African international Ashley Johnson as scrum and defence coach and Rob Fuller taking responsibility for lineouts and the breakdown.
With a background in Olympic sport training, Rob Norman will take control of the pre-season build up as strength and conditioning coach, to once again build one of the fittest squads in the division.
Elle Hume will lead physiotherapy, supported by Naomi Johnson. Jack Richards will provide player and match analysis while Harley Williams will act as manager.
Overall, the re-signing of the experienced coaching team is a positive step for the club looking to move forward into the new season. With their wealth of knowledge and established relationships, the team can work together to achieve success.
Adam Balding, director of rugby commented: “The continuity of management is equally as important as having continuity within the playing squad.
To have a coaching team headed up by Peter Glackin which is supported by both Ashely Johnson and Rob Fuller shows the ambition and direction we are wanting to move in as a playing group and also the brand of rugby we are wanting to continue to develop here at Birmingham Moseley.
“The wealth of experience and knowledge within the game that the coaches bring really drives the high performance element which we are looking for both on and off the field.
“Supported by Rob Norman as head of S&C, Elly Hulme as head physio and Naomi Johnson as assistant first team physio, they will again continue to keep players fit and on the pitch throughout the coming season.
“Harley Williams continues as first team manager where he will be supported by a first team kit coordinator as the demands at this level increase year on year.
“What has been delivered by the coaching team so far has been absolutely outstanding and has laid solid foundations for the players to build on as we now look to return to Billesley before welcoming Luctonians RFC at home on 12 August.”
