200 years of Cadbury celebrated in short film
Birmingham-based video production company Spark Media has announced the release of short film ‘Cadbury Unwrapped’, commissioned by Mondelēz International, to commemorate 200 years of Cadbury.
The film unwraps the investment, innovation, heritage and people behind the Cadbury brand, from its beginnings as a small shop on Birmingham’s Bull Street to becoming part of the fabric of British life and a household name around the world.
Spark Media travelled across the UK and Ireland, visiting factories in Bournville, Marlbrook, Chirk, Coolock and Rathmore, to film a series of new interviews with Cadbury workers in production, innovation, archive roles and more.
With unseen archive footage interspersed throughout, the documentary-style short film explores the huge impact Cadbury has had on Birmingham and the West Midlands.
It aims to further instil a sense of pride in the Cadbury heritage and the city that has been its home for two centuries.
Danny Gwynne (pictured), co-director at Spark Media and proud Brummie expressed his excitement about being part of such a significant project: "Growing up just around the corner from the Bournville Cadbury factory, I have always been inspired by its legacy and impact on our community.
“As proud Brummies, the Spark Media team is delighted to be able to contribute to the celebration of 200 years of Cadbury."
