Val Clarke, general manager at 4PS, said: “4PS really enjoy being part of allotment club at Birmingham Business Park.

"There are so many good things about 'growing your own ' - not just the huge sense of achievement and of course being able to enjoy the fantastic fresh, seasonal produce but also the benefits it can bring towards improving mental and physical wellbeing.

"It 's great to be able to be part of this event with some local students involved.

"It 's so important to teach young people about how our food is produced and show them that it 's exciting to be able to plant, grow, cook and eat your own food!"

Barrie Street, B2B marketing manager at Canon UK & Ireland, which has a Customer Experience Centre based within the Birmingham Business Park, said: "Through initiatives such as our Young People Programme, Canon has a strong heritage of supporting younger generations.

"We 're delighted that students are being invited to the Birmingham Business Park to see the breath of opportunities and wonderful green outdoor spaces that the Park has to offer."

The event will be held outside to showcase the use of outdoor spaces on the business park including the park 's allotments and beehives where students will be given the opportunity to wear beekeeping suits and meet the park 's bee colony.

The event is in collaboration with Hogarths Hotel, whose chef will speak to students about how fresh produce grown on the allotments can be used in recipes.

The team at Hogarths will also be on hand to share their career stories in the hospitality industry.

Lori Henebury, marketing, community and business development manager at Birmingham Business Park, said: “It 's wonderful to collaborate with fellow Solihull Chamber patron, Hogarths Hotel, on this event.

"It 's part of our ongoing commitment as Solihull Chamber Patrons to collaborate with businesses across the borough to establish ourselves as a responsible business.

"As cornerstone employers for the Solihull Careers Hub, this is a chance for us to collaborate with multiple businesses to have a greater collective impact on careers provision for Solihull schools.

"Meaningful encounters with employers from a wide range of industries is an integral part of preparing and inspiring young people for the world of work and we 're honoured to host this event here at the business park. ”

Sam Frampton, head of Solihull Chamber, said: "Businesses working with Education/Work Inspiration is one of Solihull Chamber president 's Tony Elvin 's priorities, so we are very excited to be collaborating on this event. It is encouraging to see the number of businesses getting involved. ”

Ellie Beattie, group sales and marketing manager for Hogarths Hotels, said: "The Hogarths allotment and the fresh homegrown ingredients it provides are at the heart of what we do at the hotels.

"It is a privilege to be welcomed to Birmingham Business Park to present to local students, in the hope to get them thinking about where their food comes from and the journey the ingredients go on from plot to plate!

"Our chefs will be talking to the students to give them some ideas on dishes they can create with the ingredients grown onsite at the business park. We may even be able to inspire the next generation of chefs. ”
