In the autumn of 2022 the Solihull Chamber Executive Committee set up a Working Group to focus on 'Work Inspiration '.

The over-arching aim of the Group was to identify opportunities for businesses to work with education as well as identify and inspire 'hard to reach ' individuals seeking employment and career opportunities.

The Work Inspiration Group is a working group made up of Solihull Chamber Executive Committee members. The group was put together by former Solihull Chamber President, Tony Elvin, and led by Amanda Holden (Wilkes Partnership).

During their 2022 term, the working group was tasked with curating inspirational stories from across the borough.

Working group members include:

Amanda Holden (Wilkes Partnership)

Susie Ankrett (Plum Personnel Ltd)

Namrita Sharma (Pink Spaghetti PA Services)

Emma-Louise Hewitt (Sydney Mitchell)

Lee Jamieson (Solihull College)

Bronia Hennessy (Digital Innovators)

Amanda Holden, a Partner at The Wilkes Partnership Solicitors and Premier Solihull Chamber member, leads the Work Inspiration Group (WIG).

Amanda explained: “Our aim was to join the dots between business, education and support for individuals locally. Through a series of interviews with a wide range of people we are now able to showcase studies of really exciting and inclusive way employers have been able to provide 'hard to reach ' individuals with meaningful employment. ”

Three ambitious projects were chosen and with the help of Lee Jamison, Vice Principal at the Solihull and Stratford College and media 'boot camp ' students, these projects have been expertly brought to life.

Over the coming weeks the Solihull Chamber will be sharing the series of video presentations and case studies.

Solihull Chamber 's VP, Susie Ankrett, founder of Plum Executive said: “So many organisations are facing recruitment challenges. I 'm delighted that we have so many great success stories to share especially to those who may not be aware of the support available to access hidden pools of talent. ”

Recently elected Chamber VP, Emma-Louise Hewitt, an Employment Law expert and Partner at Sydney Mitchell Solicitors added: “The achievements of the Work Inspiration Group is a brilliant example of Chamber members successfully working in collaboration. The series of videos are a great way to show case and highlight the fantastic successes achieved through changing perceptions within the recruitment process. ”

The first of these interviews is with Chet Parmar the CEO of The Colebridge Trust.
