New member benefits have been launched by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce today following a comprehensive survey.

The survey was launched in August after the GBCC agreed a new three-year business plan and strategy - with member feedback sought to develop services and support.

The results of the survey have led to the immediate introduction of two new benefits.

From today, all members will have the option to submit a 30-second video to promote their business, which will be used across the GBCC 's social media channels.

And a new monthly membership prize draw has also been introduced, in which five members will be selected at random to win an event sponsorship or website advert to the value of £500.

Meanwhile, 1813 Club benefits have been expanded.

All 1813 members can now claim two tickets for the annual dinner and awards or a free Expo stand.

They will also receive a week 's worth of free advertising on the Chamber website or in one of the regional news bulletins.

Further developments, including longer-term projects such as a major upgrade to the digital offering for members, are in progress.

Chief executive Henrietta Brealey (pictured) said: “A big thank you to our members who took part. One of our core Chamber values is 'continuously improving '.

“Your feedback has helped us shape how we build on our existing benefits, as well as create some new ones to help businesses fulfil their potential.

“At the Chamber we are here to Connect, Support and Grow local businesses. We exist for and because of our members. The world never stops evolving and neither do we.

“We look forward to continuing to work with you on developing the member experience over the months and years to come. ”

Respondents to the member survey revealed their top three reasons for joining the Chamber were to grow the profile of their business (61 per cent), improve their network of clients (55 per cent) and to build a network of peers (34 per cent).

The three existing benefits respondents valued the most were the programme of member events (83 per cent), access the member directory (81 per cent) and profile opportunities through Chamberlink magazine and the digital newsletters (76 per cent).

The survey also highlighted lower levels of awareness of some existing member benefits.

A quarter of respondents were not aware of, but would value, access to the 24-hour legal and HR helpline and over a third were not aware of, but would value, access to the Chambers ' employee benefits platform.

This platform, delivered by partner BHSF, offers discounts for employees across member organisations that can support workforces through the cost of living crisis.

Henrietta added: “This is just some of what we took away from your feedback. Remember to watch out for next year 's survey and please do contact our membership team today to see how we can help you make the most of your membership. ”
