Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce have announced the next event in the Good Business Forum series - taking place on 11 July at Millenium Point.

The forum will take place from 3pm to 5pm.

From climate change to attracting and retaining a new more socially minded generation of employees - recent events have brought exploring and articulating businesses ' wider role in society up many board and exec agendas.

The quarterly forum for GBCC members explores how businesses are tackling this subject and why: the tangible business benefits to doing so. Each event sees a panel of a business case study, a professional advisor and a representative from the public or third sector sharing their insights and perspectives before a series of roundtable discussions.

Speakers at the event will include Abbie Vlahakis, CEO at Millenium Point, Rebekah Taitt (pictured), regional development director - Midlands, Lloyds Bank, and Helen Davis, Midlands director leading the Climate Services and Sustainability Group at Arup.

The forum will be a chance for attendees to gain an insight into approaches to ESG, CSR and Social value, take opportunities to learn from and share with peers, broaden your network of likeminded businesses and gain practical tips that you can apply in your organisation.

Feedback from the 2022 Good Business Forum series showed 86 per cent of delegates learned something new at a Good Business Forum that they could directly apply in their organisation or role and 93 per cent made new contacts.

Henrietta Brealey, CEO at Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, said: “Many businesses are looking to get to grips with what 'good ' ESG, profit with purpose or CSR looks like in today 's environment. Each Good Business Forum we share a range of leading perspectives on this agenda and have plenty of discussion too, to support local businesses in sharing good practice.

“I 'm looking forward to welcoming our guest speakers and members to the July meet-up, thank you to Millennium Point for being our partner on this event. ”
