Growth Through People, the Chamber 's annual campaign will return in 2022, and the Chamber has launched Expression of Interest forms for businesses looking to get involved.

Growth Through People aims to help local firms boost productivity through improved leadership and people management skills.

Delivered by the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce with a range of partners, it includes free training sessions, workshops and webinars alongside research and thought leadership content, all delivered together with Chamber members.

The 2021 campaign attracted around 400 delegates. 24 thought leadership blogs, advice from 16 local leaders in social media videos, and a 4-podcast mini-series on the Chamber Podcast were shared. The campaign hashtag reached over 300,000 accounts on twitter alone. The 2021 campaign was delivered in partnership with over 50 Chamber Member and stakeholder organisations.

2022 will be the sixth year the Chambers have run the campaign, and the third year that the campaign will involve a conference.

The Growth Through People campaign has grown each year.

In 2021:

  • 95 per cent of delegates would recommend Growth Through People events to their contacts or colleagues
  • 71 per cent of delegates learned something at the Growth Through People event/webinar they attended that they will be applying in their role or organisation.

Emily Stubbs (pictured), policy and patron adviser at the Chamber, said: "Leadership and people management skills are one of the key areas businesses can invest in to improve productivity. They are particularly crucial for keeping business moving as we continue to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic and for navigating challenges associated with long-term changes in the way we live and work.

Growth Through People wouldn 't be possible without the world-class expertise of our members and strategic partners, and their willingness to share their best practice advice and experiences.

This year 's campaign will cover topics including responsible leadership, accessing talent, engaging staff, unlocking potential and rebuilding resilience. We 're excited to work with members who have expertise and experience in these areas to deliver a campaign that is bigger, better and more impactful than ever before. ”
