The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) is working with the Careers and Enterprise Company to gain feedback from employers in the city-region on a self-assessment questionnaire for their employer standards.

The project is seeking out small and micro businesses (with fewer than 49 employees) who have undertaken activity with young people, schools, colleges or third parties that are for the benefit of increasing young people 's awareness, aspirations, and preparedness for the world of work.

The self-assessment survey will take around 20 to 30 minutes to complete, with there being an additional opportunity for firms to be involved in a focus group to dive further into their experience of filling out the self-assessment.

The project follows on from a previous piece of research undertaken with the CEC around their proposed employer standards, with the aim of providing businesses with a tool to support their delivery of quality careers education outreach.

Beth Clewes (pictured), insight and intelligence services manager for GBCC, said: “We 're thrilled to be working with the Careers and Enterprise Company again on a project that follows on from the consultation we did with Greater Birmingham businesses on their draft employer standards at the beginning of the year.

“At this pilot stage, we 're really looking to hear from small and micro businesses in the region who have undertaken substantial careers education activity with young people, secondary schools and further education colleges, so please do get in touch if this your organisation meets these criteria and you are interested in taking part.

“To thank you for your time, we will make a donation to our Chamber President 's chosen charity, PANS PANDAS UK. ”
