Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce will be welcoming back businesses reopening on Monday by reprising its Twitter takeover initiative, as part of a continued drive to 'Keep Business Moving '.

Stage three of the government 's roadmap takes effect from Monday - meaning hotels, theatres, cinemas and museums will be able to reopen while hospitality venues will be able to operate indoors.

International travel will also resume on Monday, whereby leisure passengers can travel abroad to 'green list ' countries without needing to quarantine on their return.

And the Chamber will be using its digital channels to champion those businesses who are reopening - many of whom have faced a challenging period due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Member businesses are being invited to take part in a 'Twitter Takeover ' of our official account - @GrBhamChambers - with the entire day on Monday devoted to those who are reopening or preparing to reopen.

This will include a series of posts and content from companies who are opening their doors for the first time since lockdown.

Member businesses also have the opportunity to be highlighted in Monday 's edition of our ChamberlinkDaily news bulletin, which reaches around 15,000 contacts.

The Chamber staged a similar campaign when swathes of the economy was permitted to reopen on 12 April.

One of those businesses which were allowed to reopen was Hands on at Work.

Kathy Scott (pictured), director at the firm, shared her experience of reopening and advice to other businesses opening their doors on Monday.

She said: “I contacted all of our regular corporate clients the week before 12 April to tell them we would be back in business from that date. We also provided them with information as to all the safety procedures we had put in place in line with Government guidance on Coronavirus restrictions so that they knew we had their comfort and safety at heart.

“I believe this provided the reassurance they needed to book their appointments as we have been encouraged with the response and appointments already in the diary.

“For those re-opening on 17 May I would say contact your clients now, let them know what to expect if they visit you at your workplace, and anything you have in place and just to keep lines of communication open so everyone knows what to expect. ”
