Cross-chamber collaboration supports growth plans at WM International

The power of regional networks and cross-Chamber cooperation was on full display by a recent collaboration between Birmingham-based WM International and Coventry-based SLT Media.

WM International, a freight forwarding company with ambitious growth plans, had identified the need to invest more strategically in marketing and digital presence.

While the company’s existing website had served its purpose, it no longer fully reflected the scale of services, professionalism or direction of the business.

Michal Gierat, managing director of WM International said: “Our services have developed significantly over time, and we knew our online presence needed to evolve with us.

“This wasn’t about starting from scratch, but about bringing everything up to a standard that matched where the business is today.”

Through regional engagement and introductions made at DBT Midlands events, a connection was formed with SLT Media, a Coventry-based agency and member of the Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.

The initial introduction was followed by a LinkedIn connection - and soon after, the opportunity to explore a potential partnership.

Katrina Fleet, a marketing specialist at WM International said: “This is a great example of how Chamber networks work in practice.

“Businesses from different areas and different Chambers were brought together simply by being visible, engaged and open to conversation.”

As part of its wider growth strategy, WM International recognised the importance of marketing as a support function for business development.

The website, in particular, was identified as a key tool - often the first point of contact for new clients and partners.

SLT Media worked closely with Katrina and the wider WM International team to deliver a solution that was practical, intuitive and aligned with the company’s long-term goals.

The project highlights the value of cooperation across Chamber regions - with a Birmingham-based business and a Coventry-based agency working together seamlessly.

In feedback following the project, Michal Gierat, said: “I wanted to thank Paulina and her team at SLT Media for the fantastic job they did on our website. Their collaboration with Katrina really stood out and made a big difference. The new website truly ticks the boxes.”

For WM International, the experience reinforced the importance of engaging with regional networks and being active within the Chamber community.

Katrina added: “Opportunities like this don’t happen by accident.

“They come from showing up, attending events, and building relationships across the region.”

For WM International, the updated website now provides a stronger platform to support future growth.

With a refreshed digital presence and continued engagement across Chamber networks, WM International is well-positioned for the next stage of its development.
