Two Solihull based firms have joined forces to improve access to care in the community.

Faced with the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and increasing awareness about their services, local charitable care organisation, Solihull Care, wished to make information about their care provisions and facilities - which includes nursing and residential care as well as home and community services - more accessible.

In a bid to improve accessibility, Solihull Care set out to rebrand their organisation with the aim of increasing their visibility.

To do this, the care provider has invested in branded vehicles used by their teams of carers, as well as in improved signage to their facilities and develop a new website.

They enlisted the services of training provider Digital Innovators, after a recommendation via Solihull Chamber of Commerce.

The award-winning firm specialises in improving the employability, skills, and confidence of young people in the West Midlands by allowing them to gain work experience delivering tangible business improvements for local employers.

A team of students from Solihull College and University Centre on the Digital Innovators Skills Programme were tasked with the development of a website for Solihull Care and after months of hard work, research and design, the team were able to produce a modern, informative, and easy-to-use website.

Joseph Slack, general manager of Solihull Care, spoke highly of this partnership: “We hit it off with Digital Innovators straight away. From little acorns, their innovative team of students were able to turn our ideas into what we believe is an excellent website and a true representation of our organisation. ”

Mick Westman, chief executive and founder of Digital Innovators, added: “It has been incredibly rewarding to collaborate with Solihull Care on this project.

"Whilst we have been able to provide them with the means to improve awareness and visibility of their organisation, one that really benefits the community, we have also seen our students thrive throughout this project and leave our programme with enhanced employability skills and confidence. ”

With the project coming to an end and website completed, Solihull Care and Digital Innovators are continuing to work together to launch this new platform and support the project team members into employment.
