A Sutton Coldfield graphic design studio has given the town 's Royal Sutton Fun Run a logo refresh ahead of its 40th event.

Kate Curry and her team at The Curry Design Studio have refreshed the logo ahead of the running, jogging and walking event on Sunday 4 June.

Fun Run event director Tracey Spare said: “We last changed the logo to recognise the official confirmation of the royal status for Sutton Coldfield back in 2014.

“As we approach a milestone for the Fun Run, now felt the right time to refresh and evolve the logo. Our brief to Kate and her team was to introduce a 'fun element ' into the logo to reflect the core principle of the event - that it 's a Fun Run and not a race.

“Kate has kept the royal identity with the continued use of red & blue and the addition of the 'characters ' in the U and R certainly reflect the 'Fun ' element of the event.

“The strengthening of the message that you can complete the event walking, jogging or running is a core message, particularly to people new to the Fun Run. ”

Kate Curry (pictured), a member of the Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce, said: “The Fun Run is an iconic event in the royal town and we were thrilled to be able to deliver a new identity in this historic 40th year.

“It is more an evolution to the previous logo than a complete overhaul. We wanted to keep the logo clean and reflect the core values of the event being staged in a royal town and very much a Fun Run for people of all ages and abilities, hence strengthening the message of being able to complete the challenging 8.5-mile course walking, jogging or running.

“We 're delighted to be supporting the event as its new creative partner and excited to see the logo and our work appear across the town in the coming weeks.

“There 's nothing more rewarding than seeing the fruits of your work appear on different media platforms.

“We 've worked alongside Darren Langley Web Design, who has created and built the new Fun Run website and this offers opportunities for The Curry Design Studio team to develop some animation into the logo as we move towards the event at the end of spring half term. ”
